Manager, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs

Kit White is Manager, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, at MEEA. She is responsible for tracking legislative and regulatory developments in MEEA’s 13-state region, focusing on Illinois, and conducting outreach and education on energy efficiency benefits. She develops fact sheets, policy memos, testimony, public comments, white papers and other advocacy materials. Kit also assists the Director of Policy with project and staff management.

Prior to joining MEEA, Kit held positions in workforce development policy at one of the largest Workforce Innovation Boards in the country. Kit has also worked in resource development at a large Chicago nonprofit. She earned her B.A. in Political Science in 2008 from the University of Guelph in Canada. In 2012, she earned her J.D. from the University of Ottawa in Canada and was a litigation attorney prior to moving to Chicago in 2014. In her free time, Kit is usually wrangling her two young children or indulging her sweet tooth at an ever-growing list of favorite bakeries.
