Associate, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs
Clara Stein is an Associate, Legislative & Regulatory Affairs, at MEEA. She is responsible for tracking legislative and regulatory developments in MEEA’s 13-state region, with a focus on Iowa and Kansas, as well as conducting outreach and education on the benefits of energy efficiency.
Prior to joining MEEA, Clara interned with the Montana Conservation Voters Education Fund, a League of Conservation Voters affiliate, assisting in the development of communication strategies. She later conducted independent research, sponsored by the Colorado College State of the Rockies Project, on the intersection of housing affordability and decarbonization in the Rocky Mountain West. Most recently, Clara worked in project management and program development after guiding youth backpacking and kayaking trips throughout the Midwest.
Clara earned her B.A. from Colorado College, majoring in Environmental Studies and minoring in Mathematical Modeling. In her free time, Clara enjoys traveling, hiking, gardening and attending concerts.
