Emma Hurbanis

Associate, Building Codes & Policy

Emma Hurbanis is an Associate, Building Codes and Policy at MEEA. In this role, Emma works to advance building-related energy efficiency programs and policies by connecting with MEEA members and stakeholders. Through developing advocacy materials and technical resources, she assists in the code adoption process at the local, state and regional levels.

Emma has a background in research and local government, most recently interning at the Dane County Office of Energy and Climate Change where she contributed to the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act and increased awareness of federal tax credits in Wisconsin. Prior to this, she instituted a workforce development program for the City of Hopkins, Minnesota, to increase opportunities for youth with barriers to employment.  

Holding a BS in Education Policy from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with minors in public policy and history, Emma is enthusiastic about bringing her knowledge of policy and government to the Building Codes & Policy Team. Outside of work, you can find her starting a new craft project, baking or planning a trip to explore a new city by foot or bike.
