As the lowest-cost energy resource, efficiency is an integral component in all decarbonization, electrification and pollution reduction strategies. MEEA maintains a fuel-neutral position on strategies to reach climate goals, recognizing that significant efficiency gains can be realized in the near and medium terms even from technologies and solutions that use carbon-based fuels, lowering energy use and associated emissions while also considering equity, costs, reasonable timelines and potential disruptions.
