The Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) has researched technologies and implemented numerous programs that conserve energy for over 18 years. CEE assesses the effectiveness of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and is known for its application of in-depth monitoring and energy use analyses that assess whether buildings are operating at their peak efficiencies. This expertise is also applied to various projects within the organization including indoor air quality weatherization and sound insulation activities. The Research and Engineering staff provides clients with practical applications science based engineering analyses and technical assistance. Some of CEE's clients include gas and electric utilities local units of government state agencies trade organizations the U.S. Department of Energy non-profit organizations and businesses. From energy efficient ice arenas to renewable energy systems in state parks to assessing energy use in hospitals CEE's analyses provide clients with practical cost-effective solutions.
